Born in 1963 in Munich; Abitur in 1983; After the military service in the German Federal Armed Forces (Z2) study of mathematics with economics from 1984 to 1990 at the Munich University of Technology; Diploma thesis at the Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt (DLR), Oberpfaffenhofen (German centre for aviation, Oberpfaffenhofen) from 1989 to 1990; from 1990 to 1995 scientific assistant at the Munich University of Technology; 1995 changeover to the TU Clausthal (Technical University of Clausthal) and graduation (Dr. rer. nat. - mathematics); since 1996 assistant professor of mathematics and informatics; from 1997 to 2002 Akad. Rat; in 2001 promotion to professor of mathematics and appointment to private lecturer (Privatdozent) at the TU Clausthal; in the summer semester 2002 administration of a C4-professorship of business economics / information systems research at the School of Economics of the University of Hanover; since 1.8.2002 C4-professor of business economics / information systems research and since 1.10.2002 chairman of the Institute for Information Systems Research of the University of Hanover.

From 1990 to 1995 responsible assistant in two DFG projects and in the FORTWIHR (Bayerischer Forschungsverbund für technisch-wissenschaftliches Hochleistungsrechnen - Bavarian Consortium for High Performance Scientific Computing); in 1996 guest lecturer, National Defense Academy in Japan, Yokosuka; in 1996 award "Best dissertation of the Technical University of Clausthal in 1995" (Bund der Freunde der TU Clausthal - Association of the Friends of the Technical University of Clausthal); in 1997 visiting professor of mathematics, Department of Mathematics, University of California, San Diego; since 1998 board member of the International Society of Dynamic Games (ISDG); in 2000 guest lecturer, Systeemianalyysin laboratorio, Helsinki University of Technology; in 2001 / 2002 strategical consultant of the board of management of the Sparkasse Goslar/Harz ; since 2002 vice-president of the ISDG; Member of the scientific associations GI, GOR , DMV, GAMM und ISDG; since 1997 initiation and direction of diverse third-party fund and other research projects .
